Theocratic & Cultural Travel

Other Options for London Sights & Culture

  • River Thames Cruise: with commentary and lunch
  • Maritime Museum: everything to do with ships, the sea, navigation
  • Docklands Light Railway: ride to GREENWICH with inclusive lunch. A 21st-century ride!
  • Natural History & Its Evidence for Intelligent Creation: A guided tour of the Natural History Museum offering an honest look at evidence relating to Bible themes.
  • Arts & Crafts:
    • Wightwick Manor: An inspirational stop near Wolverhampton, if you are travelling from the north or midlands
    • William Morris Gallery: The astounding Arts & Crafts Pre-Raphaelite creator of furnishings, art and 'new world' writings
    • Port Sunlight: Visit the village and art gallery
    • Kelmscott Manor: with its exquisite homely atmosphere and charm. Also linked perhaps with the V&A, or the National Gallery.
  • London Eye: A high-flying, expensive and short ride!
  • Shopping Choices: Especially if timed for the January Sales, this takes you to several major shopping areas of London; Liberty's, Hamleys, Harrods...
  • Kew Gardens: a longer time would be needed for this option, but it is possible on the Sunday.
  • London Zoo, Whipsnade Zoo or Paradise Park (near Hatfield)
  • Hampton Court Palace: including maze and gardens
  • A longer sight-seeing guided coach ride around London: if most people in your group were infirm or elderly, this may be a good option, and may include time in a park or by the river
  • Buckingham Palace or Apsley House with Wellington Arch
  • Welwyn Garden City: a short detour to see a remarkable example of a pre-war 'healthy-living Garden City'
  • Holocaust Museum: free entry to Imperial War and Holocaust Museum in London. We can do a happier 'survivors' commentary here
  • Mill Hill Bethel Meeting & Bethel Buffet Breakfast: You would be guests of Ron Drage and the Mill Hill congregation for their Sunday 10am meeting.
  • Tower of London: A blue-badge guided tour of the Tower, with focus on religious history or just a 10-minute Introductory Talk outside the Tower
  • 3-course Medieval Dinner: at St Katherine's Dock, near to the Tower of London
  • Ragtime/Classical Piano: in the hotel lounge. This adds a touch of the 'Savoy' to your hotel; very happy, quiet and pleasant music for all
  • Charleston Era Buffet Dance: Thoroughly brilliant and enjoyable Debbie Arthurs (ex-'Charleston Chasers') and Nick Gill play live ragtime piano percussion and vocals with some 1920s dance guidance too. All this in your hotel! You could also invite guests for the evening, if you wish... the hotel will provide either a normal Dinner or a Buffet; your choice
  • Discount Shopping Stop: On the return journey, we can arrange to stop at a Boundary Mill or similar, for some final low-cost but high-class shopping. Top brands, up to 70% off
  • Swimming: Hotels with an internal pool are generally much more expensive than our standard budget allows (typically £38 extra per person for the same level of service!). However, one of our hotels has a free 50-metre swim & gym facility next door; ask us for opening times.
  • Leisure Facilities: A 'dry' gymnasium is available in most hotels, free of charge
  • Seasonal Events and Shows: may also be possible; these are generally not publicised until about two months before the event, or at the start of the spring season. These can include:
    • BBC Show Theatre: being in the audience of a TV show
    • Theatre Museum: Professional make-up and dress
    • Picnic Concerts: at 3 venues in Greater London
    • River Races: several during the season
    • Royal Albert Hall: Big names in music
    • Food and flower shows
    • Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
    • Music events on the embankment
    • Vintage Car Rally
